Adorable Princess Estelle of Sweden and her littel brother Prince Oscar have dressed in traditional costume to celebrate St Lucia Day on December 13, 2018

Sweden's Princess Estelle taking the role of the saint. Her mother Crown Princess Victoria chose to decorate Princess Estelle's crown with electric candles rather than wax ones and completed her outfit with a white dress and red sash as is tradition. Meanwhile Prince Oscar took on the role of a Stjaerngossen or 'star boy' which saw the toddler dressed in a white gown and pointed hat while wielding a wand.

Sweden's Princess Estelle took on the role of St Lucia, wearing a crown of candles on her head to light the way during the winter solstice, the shortest day of the year. She's seen carrying a basket of Luciaboller or saffron buns, traditionally enjoyed as part of the celebration.  While her brother Prince Oscar play the role of a Stjaerngossen or 'star boy', who dressed in a white gown and pointed hat while wielding a wand.


St Lucia Day comes ahead of the royal family selecting a Christmas tree for the palace. The students from the master's program at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences present them with a selection of firs.
