Dutch Royal Family Attends New Year Reception At Royal Palace In Amsterdam on January 14, 2020

Dutch Princess Beatrix waved at the reception as she arrived wearing an elegant monochrome dress

Queen Maxima, an international financier by trade, married King Willem-Alexander in 2002 in Amsterdam. They were seen smiling before the event.

Dutch Queen Maxima put on an elegant display in dazzling blue earrings and a  matching fitted dress as she arrived to attend the annual New Years' reception.

Queen Maxima looked stylish in an embroidered knee-length shift dress which cinched in at the waist and was emblazoned with an intricate two-tone blue and grey pattern.  She teamed the sophisticated ensemble with a pair of statement teardrop sapphire earrings and a pair of suede stiletto heels to finish off the outfit. King Willem-Alexander looked smart in a navy blue suit, which he matched with a red and white patterned tie, finishing off his outfit with a white pocket square and a pair of dark purple leather brogues.

Queen Maxima managed to maintain her typically polished appearance despite windy conditions as she happily gestured to the crowds alongside her husband King Willem-Alexander at the event in Amsterdam.

Queen Maxima of The Netherlands dazzled in a fitted blue gown and matching teardrop earrings as she arrived to attend the annual New Years' reception.

Queen Maxima looked stylish in an embroidered knee-length shift dress which cinched in at the waist and was emblazoned with an intricate two-tone blue and grey pattern. She teamed with a pair of statement teardrop sapphire earrings, a matching blue ring, paired with silver bangles, and carried a navy blue suede clutch bag in her other hand.

Queen Maxima looked chic in denim dress and a pair of chunky brown wedges, while Princess Alexia, 13, wore a short blue and yellow floral printed dress with a pair of sporty pumps, and the baby of the family Princess Ariane, 11, donned a hot pink dress with an age-appropriate, a pretty white cardigan and matching white sandals.

Both Queen Maxima and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa each wore royal heirloom jewels and one of their favorite designers: Queen Maxima in one-shouldered silk Jan Taminiau and the Grand Duchess Maria Teresa in Elie Saab.

King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of The Netherlands walked arm in arm at the Monument National de la Solidarité Luxembourgeoise, where King Willem Alexander laid a wreath during a solemn ceremony.

Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume and his wife Princess Stéphanie, who wore a green dress with cape detail, nude shoes and a woven hat at the airport of Luxembourg to greet the Dutch royal couple.

Grand Duchess Maria Teresa of Luxembourg took advantage of the sunny weather with her chic sunglasses, worn at the welcoming ceremony with a mauve tailored coat and lavender dress.

The Grand Duchess' daughter-in-law Princess Stéphanie wore the Chaumet tiara, which has a lattice motif and diamond tipped prongs. The headpiece, which also has detachable pearls, can also be worn as a choker.

The Luxembourg royals gave King Willem Alexander and Queen Maxima of The Netherlands a tour of the local sites and scenery – including the amazing views – on the first morning of their visit.

Sixty-three-year-old Grand Duke Henri, who has reigned since October 2000, kissed Queen Maxima's hand when the Dutch royals arrived in Luxembourg for an three day state visit.
