The Queen thanked the athletes for their historic achievements in Rio. She also said that she regrets that the Crown Prince could not participate due his bad luck following trampolining, which caused a spine fracture - but joked '... what is a man near fifty doing trampolining'.

Crown Princess Mary accompanied by her two eldest children Prince Christian and Princess Isabella for the event to honor the Olympic and Paralympic athletes was held in Copenhagen on 10 October 2016

(L-R) Princess Isabella was all smiles as she arrived in a blush pink jacket and navy floral print dress.  Crown Princess Mary looked effortlessly elegant in a grey Joseph Oslo Coat, a chic red Dolce & Gabbana lace dress and her favorite Gianvito Rossi leather pumps.  Prince Christian, channeled his father's style in a navy suit with a blue and red striped tie.

In a speech to the Danish athletes, the queen prompted laughter by stating: 'When you jump on a trampoline when you are almost 50, then maybe it is not so strange that it goes wrong.'  And she added with a smile: 'He's fine, he just can't take part in this event.'
